当地时间7日，国家主席习近平在美国佛罗里达州海湖庄园同美国总统特朗普举行中美元首第二场正式会晤。两国元首就中美双边重要领域务实合作和共同关心的国际及地区问题广泛深入交换意见。双方认为，这次两国元首会晤是积极和富有成果的。双方同意共同努力，扩大互利合作领域，并在相互尊重的基础上管控分歧。

习近平指出，中美元首这次海湖庄园会晤对中美关系发展具有特殊重要意义。我同总统先生进行了长时间深入沟通，加深了彼此了解，增进了相互信任，达成了许多重要共识，建立起良好工作关系。双方要不断巩固已建立起来的关系，深化友好合作，推动中美关系向前发展，更好造福两国和两国人民，为促进世界和平、稳定、繁荣尽到我们的历史责任。

While meeting with Trump at the latter's Florida resort, Xi said there are "a thousand reasons to make the China-U.S. relationship work, and no reason to break it."

 

It takes political resolve and historical commitments from leaders of both countries to enhance the bilateral relations in the 45 years to come, said Xi, who also invited Trump to pay a state visit to China in 2017.

 

The Chinese president also underlined the role of four newly-established high-level mechanisms for dialogue and cooperation between China and the United States in such areas as diplomacy and security, economy, law enforcement and cyber security, as well as social and people-to-people exchanges.

 

Xi urged the two countries to set up a cooperative priority list for early harvest, advance negotiations on the bilateral investment treaty, and explore the pragmatic cooperation in infrastructure construction and energy, among other areas.

 

He also said the two sides should properly handle sensitive issues, manage and control differences in a constructive manner, and strengthen communication and coordination in major international and regional affairs.

 

China and the United States should expand their cooperation in addressing global challenges, such as non-proliferation and the fight against cross-border crimes, Xi said.

 

For his part, Trump accepted the invitation for a state visit to China with pleasure, and hoped to make the trip at an early date.

 

The two heads of state also informed each other of their current priorities in domestic and diplomatic agenda, and exchanged views on regional hot-button issues.

 

"I think we have made tremendous progress in our relationship with China," the White House cited Trump as saying after meeting with Xi, adding that the relationship developed by Xi and himself is "outstanding."

 

U.S. representatives have been meeting one-on-one with their Chinese counterparts, and progress has been made, said the U.S. president.

 

After their talks, Xi and Trump took a walk at the picturesque seaside resort, which Trump calls his "Southern White House."

习近平强调，中美已经互为第一大贸易伙伴国，两国人民都从中受益良多。中国正在推进供给侧结构性改革，不断扩大内需，服务业占国民经济比重不断提高。中国经济将保持良好发展势头，中美加强经贸合作前景广阔，双方要抓住这个机遇。中方欢迎美方参与“一带一路”框架内合作。

 

China and the United States are now each other's biggest trading partner, from which the two peoples benefit a lot, said Xi.

 

Xi said China is pushing forward the supply-side structural reform, boosting domestic demand and increasing the share of the services industry in its national economy.

 

China's economy is to maintain sound momentum of development, and China and the United States enjoy broad prospects in economic and trade cooperation, said Xi, urging the two sides to grasp the opportunity.

 

"China welcomes the U.S. side to participate in cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative," said Xi.

习近平指出，两军关系是中美关系的重要组成部分。军事安全互信是中美战略互信基础。双方要保持两军各级别交往，继续发挥好中美国防部防务磋商、亚太安全对话等对话磋商机制作用，用好将建立的联合参谋部对话机制新平台，落实好双方已经商定的年度交流合作项目，用好并不断完善重大军事行动相互通报信任措施机制和海空相遇安全行为准则两大互信机制。双方要共同努力，不断增进两军互信和合作。

 

On military relations, which he said make up an important part of bilateral ties, Xi pointed out that mutual trust in military and security areas forms the basis of the strategic mutual trust between the two countries.

 

Xi proposed that the two sides maintain military exchanges at various levels, give full play to such mechanisms as China-U.S. defense ministry consultations and Asia-Pacific security dialogue, and make good use of the dialogue mechanism to be established between the two countries' joint staffs of the armed forces.

 

Meanwhile, he suggested that the two sides carry out the annual exchange programs they have agreed upon, and implement and improve the mutual reporting mechanism on major military operations and the code of safe conduct on naval and air military encounters.

习近平强调，中方愿同美方加强执法合作，共同打击贩毒、拐卖儿童、洗钱、网络犯罪、有组织犯罪等各种形式的跨国犯罪。中美在维护网络安全方面拥有重要共同利益。双方要利用好执法及网络安全对话机制，共同推动和建设和平、安全、开放、合作、有序的网络空间。中国正在全力反对腐败，希望美方在追逃追赃方面给予中方更多配合。

 

China is ready to enhance law-enforcement cooperation with the U.S. side, said Xi, calling on the two sides to jointly combat transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, child trafficking, money laundering, cyber crime and organized crime.

 

China and the United States share important interests in safeguarding cyber security, said Xi, adding that the two sides should make good use of the newly installed dialogue mechanism on law-enforcement and cyber security so as to jointly build a peaceful, secure, open, cooperative and orderly cyberspace.

 

China is making all-out efforts in fighting corruption, said Xi, who urged the U.S. side to coordinate more closely with China in hunting for fugitives who have fled abroad and recovering illicit money.

习近平强调，人文交流是两国关系的地基。两国人民对彼此素怀友好感情。双方应该加强人文交流，扩大两国人民友好往来，推动校际合作，促进旅游业合作，拓展艺术交流，加强体育合作，开展医疗卫生合作，夯实两国关系民意基础，给中美关系长期健康发展提供更多正能量。

 

People-to-people exchanges remain a solid foundation for the China-U.S. relationship, Xi said, vowing to promote bilateral cooperation in tourism, arts, sports and health care to further enhance the public support and boost ties.

 

Trump said the United States is willing to further strengthen cooperation with China in economy, military affairs and people-to-people exchanges and support China's efforts in hunting for fugitives and recovering illicit money.

Xi introduced the Chinese idea of development to the foreign sides, noting that China will stick to the opening strategy of mutual benefits and continue to be a contributor to the world development, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

 

China is willing to combine its development with those of other countries and work together to build a community of a shared future for all humankind.

Ahead of the two presidents' second round of talks, senior Chinese and U.S. officials on Friday initiated the comprehensive economic dialogue, as well as the diplomatic and security dialogue, two of the four pillars of the newly established bilateral dialogue mechanism.

 

Within the framework, the two sides had frank and in-depth conversations and set the agenda for the next phase.

 

Xi and Trump approved of the preliminary results of the two dialogue mechanisms.
