Olympics officials in Rio have apologized after discovering they were raising an incorrect Chinese national flag during medal ceremonies.

        颁奖仪式上升起的中国国旗有误，里约奥委会官员表示道歉。

        Both Chinese flags are red and feature a large yellow star flanked by four smaller stars. But there are subtle differences in how the smaller stars are aligned.

        两面中国国旗是红色的，上面有四颗小五角星环拱一颗大的黄色五角星。但小星星的排列方式却有细微差错。

        On the correct Chinese flag the four smaller stars should be rotated so that they point toward the center of the larger star. Instead, the flags used in Rio were positioned parallel to each other.

        正确的中国国旗上，四颗小五角星应该有所偏转，指向大五角星的中心。但里约使用的国旗上，星星是彼此平行的。

        Rio officials aren't alone in their China flag flub. On Saturday, Australia's Channel 7 network used the Chilean national flag instead of the Chinese flag.
